Bell County native Dale Ann Bradley has once again been nominated for the Female Vocalist of the Year by the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA), along with two other awards.

“I am honored to be nominated in any and all categories, ” said Bradley.

In addition to Female Vocalist of the year, Bradley, whose voice had been compared to a mountain song bird, was nominated in two other categories. Her single, “Somewhere South of Crazy” written by Bradley and Pam Tillis, was nominated for Song of the Year. She was also nominated for Gospel Performance of the Year with “I Pressed Through The Crowd.” A perennial nominee, Bradley has won the Female Vocalist of the Year award four times, the most recent being 2011.

She is especially excited about the gospel category as she has never been nominated in that category before, and with a background in the Primitive Baptist faith (her father is a Primitive Baptist preacher) gospel music has always been near and dear to her heart.

A graduate of Bell County High School, Bradley always dreamed of a career in music, but never could imagined the places she would travel to beyond Williams Branch, where she grew up. Extremely proud of Bell County, Appalachia and her home state, she takes her culture everywhere she goes. The “Queen of Bluegrass” says she has also had the honor of working with some of the finest singers, songwriters and musicians in the world.

Bradley will be performing tonight, along with Steve Gulley at the Cumberland Mountain Music Show (CMMS)at the Bell Theatre in Pineville. At CCMS, Bradley and Gulley, along with special friends and guests, bring you the best in music and entertainment from the Appalachian Mountains at the show. Tickets for the show can be purchased at the door for $12.

Others nominated in her categories include:

FEMALE VOCALIST OF THE YEAR: Dale Ann Bradley, Sonya Isaacs, Alison Krauss, Claire Lynch and Rhonda Vincent

SONG OF THE YEAR: “A Far Cry From Lester & Earl” by Junior Sisk & Ramblers Choice, written by Tim Massey, Rick Purdue & Harry Sisk Jr.; “Dust Bowl Children” by Alison Krauss & Union Station, written by Peter Rowan; “Pretty Little Girl From Galax” by Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out, written by Milan Miller; “Somewhere South of Crazy” by Dale Ann Bradley, written by Dale Ann Bradley & Pam Tillis; and “Sounds Of Home” by Blue Highway, written by Shawn Lane
