A Middlesboro man was sentenced in Bell Circuit Court on Monday. Christopher Hall, 34, was sentenced on three separate matters.

He was sentenced to five years in the penitentiary on a charge of theft by unlawful taking and 10 years on the charge of second-degree robbery. The robbery charge is to be enhanced due to the plea involving him being a persistent felony offender.

Hall was also sentenced to five years in the penitentiary for receiving stolen property under $10,000. This charge was set to run consecutively with the robbery charge.

A Middlesboro man accused of stalking a female was also sentenced in circuit court. David M. Bingham, 54, was sentenced to five years in the penitentiary on the charge of first-degree stalking. If the sentence is probated, Bingham will be placed on supervised probation for five years.

According to the indictment, Bingham intentionally stalked the female victim by repeatedly following her and contacting her by calling on the telephone for no legitimate purpose.

The indictment states Bingham explicitly or implicitly threatened the lady, which intentionally placed the woman in reasonable fear of serious physical injury or death. Prior to these events, Bingham had an order placed on him, which stated he was to have no contact with the woman and must remain at least 200 feet away from her.
