A Middlesboro man is behind bars after being charged with first-degree sodomy allegedly involving a 3-year-old girl. Dustin Charles Green, 25, was arrested on the charge by Josh Pratt of the Middlesboro Police Department (MPD).

According to the arrest citation, the alleged sodomy occurred between March and May. Green was arrested on Friday. He remains in custody at the Bell County Detention Center. His bond was set at $100,000 cash.

In other police news, Charles Edward Woodby, 32, of Middlesboro, was arrested on the charge of theft by unlawful taking. Woodby was arrested by Carl Frith of the Bell County Sheriff’s Department.

According to the arrest citation, Woodby stole a key from Quality Auto, went back to the lot after it closed and took a 1997 Jeep Wrangler.

The citation listed that Woodby spoke with the owner to tell him he could pick the Jeep up at Hardee’s of Middlesboro. The owner did not permit Woodby to take the Jeep. Woodby was released from the detention center on Monday.

A Pineville man was also arrested on Friday after being stopped by Barry Cowan of the MPD. Ricky Allen Baker, 52, was originally pulled over after giving an improper signal.

According to the arrest citation, Baker appeared to be under the influence upon contact. After being searched, Cowan allegedly found three different types of controlled substances.

Baker was arrested on the charge of first- and third-degree possession of a controlled substance, as well as failure to or improper signal and operating under the influence.
