Children’s Reading Foundation Spokesperson Candida Sullivan is excited to be returning to the Kentucky Mountain Laurel Festival (KMLF) this year.
“I am honored to read my books at the KMLF and represent the Children’s Reading Foundation,” said Sullivan. “Their dedication and generosity is astounding.”
Although this is not Sullivan’s first time at the festival , this is the first year she will be representing the foundation. She previously attended the event as a local author.
Sullivan will be reading at the foundation’s location in the Bell Theater in Pineville immediately after the parade. The readings will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
In addition to representing the reading foundation, Sullivan will also be representing Shade Tree Publishing Company — the publishing company that published her three books.
Shade Tree is hosting a “Summer Reading Celebration” and Sullivan will have all of the details at the KMLF.
During the celebration, Shade Tree will be giving away free e-books from Amazon.com every weekend in May, June and July.
All three of Sullivan’s books are included in the giveaway. The author said she is excited about the chance to share her stories.
“As an author, I love sharing my books and I’m so thankful for the opportunity to give them away,” said Sullivan.
“Underneath the Scars” will be available from June 14 to 16. “Zippy and the Stripes of Courage will be available from June 21 to 23. Her most recent story, “Zippy’s Big Difference,” will be available July 26 to 28.
Sullivan will have fliers detailing all of the titles available for free this summer as well as how to access the e-books at the KMLF.
