Man indicted for assault

A Middlesboro man has been indicted on a first-degree assault charge.
Christopher David Lawson, 37, was indicted on the charge for an incident that took place nearly a year ago. He allegedly operated a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs and was involved in a car crash. The wreck caused serious injury to Bobby Baker.
Due to his injuries, Baker remained in the University of Tennessee Hospital until December 2011. He was then transported to Lee Nursing and Rehabilitation. Baker passed away as a result of his injuries on April 30, the indictment said.
Lawson was also indicted on the charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence. Witnesses during the hearing included Det. Kevin Goodin and assistant chief Gary Lambdin of the Pineville Police Department.
Also indicted recently was a Pineville woman on the charge of first-degree wanton endangerment. According to the indictment, Rosemary Mosley, 58, allegedly caused substantial danger to Terri Blevins, Ron Blevins and two small children.
Mosley allegedly pointed a handgun at Ron Blevins and fired the weapon in the direction of Terri Blevins and the two children. Mosley was arrested on Aug. 31 by deputy Shane Stewart of the Bell County Sheriff’s Department, according to the detention center website. She was released later that day.
Witnesses at the hearing included Trooper Craig A. Miller and Trooper Roy Pace of the Kentucky State Police. Terri and Ron Blevins were also at the hearing.
Other indictments handed down included:
• William Robert Lee, 44, of Pineville, on the charge of marijuana cultivation (five or more plants) and possession of marijuana;
• Christopher Hall, 34, of Middlesboro, on the charge of theft by unlawful taking over $500 and for being a persistent felony offender;
• Sarah Daniels, 24, of Middlesboro, on two counts of theft by unlawful taking over $500;
• Casey L. Carpenter, 32, of Middlesboro, on the charge of third-degree assault and terroristic threatening;
• Wilburn Partin, 62, of Pineville, on the charge of a false statement or misrepresentation to receive benefits over $100.
