The Second Saturday in the Gap brought more than 100 people to the small town.
People came out not only to see area artwork displayed, but to listen to free entertainment provided by local musicians.
This month’s event was packed with back-to-back performances as local entertainers took the stage.
Jimmy and Chris Rose are brothers from Bell County. The brothers have been performing together for quite some time, singing original music as well as covers of current and classic country.
The Rose brothers will be performing and giving out CDs on a float in the Kentucky Mountain Laurel Festival on May 25.
Jimmy will also be performing at the courthouse at 4:45 p.m. the same day and will be opening for Joe Nichols on May 23 at the festival.
Jimmy is an America’s Got Talent hopeful and encourages everyone to watch the show’s season premier on June 4 at 8 p.m. to see if he made the show.
Rachel Lynn is a 16-year-old Cumberland Gap High School student from Harrogate, Tenn. She has been performing country music at local, state and national competitions for the past several years.
Lynn also performed Monday in the Cumberland Gap High School production, “Hollywood Hillbillies.”
Sean James is a Lincoln Memorial University DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine student who performs a mixture of indie-folk-rock music.
James will perform in “Benefit for the Beasties” at Jimmy’s Place in Tazewell, Tenn., on June 9. The benefit is being held to raise money for the Claiborne County Animal Shelter.

The Washboard Singers consists of residents from Middlesboro and Pineville as well as Speedwell and Cumberland Gap, Tenn., who sing a mixture of folk-country music. They sang the crowd-pleaser “Rocky Top” with the crowd singing along and dancing before finishing up their set.
Next month’s event will be held on June 8 and will feature quilts.
