Friday marked the kickoff for “Homespun Appalachia” at the Cumberland Gap National Historical Park. Approximately 1,000 students were on hand for the event. The event continues on into the weekend. There are several live demonstrations during the event including charcoal making, pottery, quilting and many more. Joey Beason (left) displayed some of his woodwork craftsmanship to students. The craft of making apple butter was also demonstrated to students.
