It has been announced that a new car dealership is coming to Middlesboro. Tim Short Nissan will be located in the area known as Epps Nissan, according to Tim Short Nissan General Manager Brian Redmond.

It is projected that the new business will be opening around the end of June.

Redmond said they plan on having a wide variety of cars on the lot. He said there should be around 100 new cars and 150 used cars.

Redmond said they will be selling more than just Nissan vehicles to give the public a mix to choose from. The main goal of Tim Short Nissan is to get people to buy their vehicle locally and not have to travel out of town.

“We want to help the economy locally,” said Redmond.

Tim Short Nissan will also be hiring once it opens. Redmond said he will be hiring for around 25 positions.

The business was established from a partnership between Redmond and Tim Short, whose friendship brought the new business along.

Redmond is a Middlesboro native. He started out in the car business washing cars as a little boy. Since that time, he has traveled to several locations doing work involving the car dealership business.

“It’s been a dream,” said Redmond. “I am very blessed to be back home. I am ecstatic to be a part of the community.”

Tim Short Nissan will be taking the place of Epps Nissan, which closed about a month ago. No reason was officially given for the abrupt closure.
