HARROGATE, Tenn. — Here’s a look at the upcoming week in Lincoln Memorial University athletics.
The Railsplitters open the 2015 season with a pair of nonconference matchups in Montevallo, Alabama this weekend. Defending Gulf South Conference tournament champion West Alabama awaits in the season opener, set for an 8:30 p.m. start on Friday at Montevallo’s Varsity Field. On Sunday, the Railsplitters will square off against host Montevallo at 4:30 p.m.

Like their male counterparts, the Lady Railsplitters begin the 2015 season in Montevallo against two nonconference foes. LMU tangles with West Alabama at 6 p.m. on Friday in the season opener before closing the weekend against Montevallo on Sunday at 2 p.m. UWA highlights the weekend slate, as the Tigers compiled a 14-5-1 record in 2014.

The Lady Railsplitters kick off the 2015 season at the Pirate Volleyball Classic in Savannah, Georgia this weekend. The three-game weekend set includes nonconference contests against USC Aiken (Friday, 7 p.m.), Erskine (Saturday, 11 a.m.) and Armstrong Atlantic State (Saturday, 2:30 p.m.). Unquestionably, AASU should provide the toughest challenge of the weekend, as the Pirates went 30-3 last season and appeared in the NCAA Southeast Regional final.

Men’s and Women’s Cross Country
The Railsplitters and Lady Railsplitters get the 2015 season underway at the Sewanee Invitational on Saturday. That event will be hosted by the University of the South at 10 a.m. in Sewanee, Tennessee.
