LONDON — Union College’s Erik Hermansson (sophomore/Gothenburg, Sweden) fired a 71 on day two of the 2015 Bill Sergent Invitational, to finish tied for sixth place after finishing with a two-round score of 143, while earning all-tournament team honors. Hermansson and the Bulldogs dropped two spots from day one as they finished in fourth place with a two-day total of 588.
Union finished 18 strokes behind the invitational champion Cumberlands, seven strokes behind second-place Cumberland (Tennessee) and two strokes behind third-place Marian (Indiana). The Bulldogs finished ahead of No. 19 Lindsey Wilson.
Finishing behind Hermansson, Ludvig Forssman (freshman/Hollviken, Sweden) finished two-over par (71-75, 146) to finish in a tie for 10th place. Forssman had a shot at finishing in the top five, but three bogeys and a double-bogey on the back nine kept him from it.
Alasdair Ross (junior/Fort William, Scotland) finished finished 21st (two-day score of 150, 73-77). Rounding out the leaderboard behind Ross, were Andy Dusek (junior/Woking, England) and Nick Blankenship (junior/Ashland), who finished tied for 23rd. The duo finished with a two-day total of 151, Dusek (74-77) and Blankenship (72-79).
The Bulldogs will take three weeks off, before taking part in their next tournament. Union will be back in action Oct. 5-6, when they host the 2015 Union College Fall Invitational at Wasioto Winds Golf Course in Pineville.
