Video documents innovation in local schools

As part of the Appalachian Renaissance Initiative (ARI) grant, a film crew visited Middlesboro on May 20. They shot footage to be used to highlight some of the great things the students and teachers have accomplished during this school year.

Some of the programs featured include project-based learning, Next-Generation classrooms, mini grant recipient classrooms and the “Leader in Me” program. Special attention was also given to Project Lead the Way, which focused on aviation and aerospace this year.

These accomplishments will be summarized in a short, five-minute video which will be available later this year, according to Tina Johnson, innovation coordinator for Middlesboro Independent Schools.
