Tazewell Speedway releases 2011 schedule

TAZEWELL, Tenn. — Tazewell Speedway has released the 2011 racing schedule that is jam-packed with exciting racing action.

An open practice session is scheduled on Saturday, March 26 from 1:00 until 6:00. The racing action gets started a week later on Saturday, April 2 with the 2nd annual Charles Trammell Memorial 50, a $3,000 to win race sanctioned by C.J. Rayburn's NASRA series.

The Tazewell Late Models will get a crack at some big money with a $2,000 to win race on April 9th.

Some of the other 2011 highlights include the Volunteer Racing Series making its first appearance at Tazewell Speedway on Saturday, May 7th in the Spring Shootout 50. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series returns again for the Toyota of Knoxville 75 on Friday, June 3rd.

Then on July 2nd and 3rd, the World of Outlaws Late Model Series will return to Tazewell Speedway for the biggest event in the track's history. The Outlaw Sizzler 101 will pay $20,000 to the winner.

Ray Cook's Southern Nationals finale will be on Saturday, July 23, for $5,300 to win. August 13 will see the 3rd annual Summer Sizzler with a $2,000 to win race for super late models and $1,500 to win race for the Tazewell Late Models.

The NASRA series returns on Sunday, September 4th for the 3rd annual Buddy Rogers Memorial 44. The Tazewell Late Models and the Modified Streets will each be competing for $2,000 to win on Saturday, October 8.

Lots of weekly racing action will take place in between these special events throughout the season, including several promotions just for the kids.
