I read, with particular interest, your opinion in the Saturday, January 29, 2011 edition of THE DAILY NEWS regarding the special called meeting on Tuesday, January 25, 2011.
I am one of the city’s elected officials, but, in no way was I involved in the so called “scuffle” that you mentioned, nor were some of the other elected members of the council. Your story made it sound as if all of the elected officials were involved! I feel very strong that it should have been pointed out, that not all of the elected officials were involved.
I love the City of Middlesboro and it’s citizens. I would never do anything, nor make any decision that, I felt was not in the best interests of all the citizens as a whole. I’ve served three prior terms on the city council, and I am very proud of my record and decorum. I’ve tried my best to be a good councilman for all the citizens of Middlesboro.
Please remember, that although some people may have “scuffled,” it is not fair to insinuate that all of us were involved.
Sincerely,
Philip Ball
Member, Middlesboro City Council
