Middlesboro Middle School crowned its 2005 basketball queen and princess Saturday evening at Fuson Brothers Gymnasium at Middlesboro High School. Crowned as eighth grade queen was Kandace Edwards, daughter of Ron and Patricia Edwards. Her escort was Justin Berquist. Seventh grader Shanice Gilbert, daughter of Eddie Gilbert, was crowned princess. Gilbert was escorted by Rashad Brown.
