James W. Day, age 83, of New Tazewell, passed away on March 17 at Claiborne County Hospital.

He was a member of MCM Baptist Church. He was a Veteran of WWII. He retired from Claiborne County Hospital after 20 years of service. He is preceded in death by his wife: Dossie Cupp Day; parents: Ingram and Mary Day; brother: Earl Day; and sister: Virgie Maples.

He is survived by his: son and daughter-in-law: Charles Loy and Bonnie Day of Tazewell; daughter and son-in-law: Mrs. James Lee (Ruth) Webb of Maryville; daughter: Danna Day of New Tazewell; grandchildren: Ricky and Indy Webb, Suzanne and Stacey Anders, Stacie and Claude Greene, Shelley and Scott Stooksbury; great grandchildren: Samantha Webb, Baby Boy Webb, Aaron and Gracie Reed, Collin and Mabry Anders, Jonah and Clay Stooksbury; brothers: Don Day of Maynardville, and LeRoy Day of Texas.

Funeral Services were held 2 p.m. Sunday, March 20 at Coffey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Russell and Rev. Dallas Harrell officiating. Singers were Living Water. Burial in the Fairview Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Ricky Webb, Claude Greene, Stacey Anders, Scott Stooksbury, B.J. Duncan, Glenn Earl. Honorary Pallbearers: Dale Duncan, Junior Bullen, David Green, and Keith Good.

Coffey Funeral Home in Charge.
