HARROGATE, Tenn. - Gail Ann Ballew Massengill, 48, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2005, at her home.

Born June 20, 1957, she was the daughter of Tennie Ballew and the late Press Ballew. She was a member of Mount Pleasant (Pine Hill) Baptist Church, and had taught in the Claiborne County School System for 20 years. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by brothers, Wayne, Blayne, Jim, Harve and Ed Ballew; and sister, Nellie Foster.

Survivors include her husband of 25 years, Porter Glenn Massengill; daughter and son-in-law, Lea Michelle and John Roy. Harrogate; daughter, Lauren Brooke Massengill, Harrogate; granddaughter, Tabitha Glynn Roy, Harrogate; mother, Tennie Ballew, Harrogate; brothers, Earl Ballew, Roger Ballew, Clarence Ballew, Grady Ballew; sisters, Sherry Fuller, Grace Sharp, Carol Lawson, Retha Bolton, and Helen Rogers; and several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Friday at Coffey Funeral Home, Harrogate Chapel, with the Rev. Bob Owens and the Rev. Steve Barnard presiding. Music will be provided by Randall Massengill and friends.

Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Lambert Cemetery. Pallbearers will be James Fuller, Gene Phelps, Keith Ballew, Patrick Bolton, Dane Bolton, Josh Ballew, Dale Massengill, and Terry Massengill. Honorary pallbearers will be Edward Massengill and Bobby Massengill.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Coffey Funeral Home, Harrogate, Tenn., which is in charge of arrangements.
