The high-scoring duo of Andrew Nickell and Josh Estes sparked the Claiborne Bulldogs to a 92-74 win over Rutledge Tuesday night.

Nickell led all scorers with 38 points and Estes added 29 as Claiborne used a big third quarter to pull away.

Rutledge was led by Joseph Horsely's 25 points.

The Bulldogs improve to 2-1 on the season.

The Lady Bulldogs, led by Whitney Parkey's 14 points topped Rutledge as well, 40-25.

Bonnie DeBusk added 8 points for Claiborne and Lisa Johnson six, while Michelle Simms and Tasha Hatfield scored 5 apiece.

Casey Wolfenbarger led Rutledge with 10 points.

Claiborne hosts rival Cumberland Gap in a double header on Friday.
