PINEVILLE - Paul E. Burnette, 72, passed away Wednesday, May 17, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville.

He was born April 8, 1934, in Bell County, a son of the late John W. Burnette and Maude Buell Burnette.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Deanna Phipps Burnette; stepmother, Louise Brunette; three sisters and two brothers, infant girls Mattie and Martha Burnette, Donna Burnette-Thompson, Glenn Burnette, and the Rev. Kenneth Burnette.

Survivors include his brothers, Garrett Joe Burnette, Varilla, Claude (Barbara) Burnette, Connersville, Ind., Lillian (Green Jr.) Miracle, Calvin, Geneva Tipton, Connersville, Ind.; stepsister, Debbie (Jimmy) Overton, Middlesboro; and a host of nieces, nephews, and loved ones; and his very special and loving friend, Betty Jackson of Pineville.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday at Creech Funeral Home with the Rev. Clayton Barton and the Rev. J.D. Barton presiding. Music will be provided by Joyce Miracle and Pam Barton.

Burial will be in Pinelawn Memorial Gardens, with his nephews serving as pallbearers. Full military rites will be given by American Legion Dewey Guy Post #14.

Visitation is from 4-9 p.m. Saturday at Creech Funeral Home, Middlesboro, which is in charge of arrangements.
