He was born Nov. 8, 1939 in Pineville, to the late Charles Ralston and Willie Mae Bush Ralston. He had been a member of the West Pineville Baptist Church for 54 years, and was an active deacon for over 30 years. He retired from the Kentucky Utilities Company in 1998 after 21 years of service, and had previously worked for the A&P Company for 18 years. He was known as a loving husband, father, and faithful servant of his Lord, Jesus Christ.
In addition to his parent's, he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Bush Ralston.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Linda Jean Ralston, Pineville; two sons, Jeff (Angela) Ralston, Speedwell, Tenn., and John (Melody) Ralston, Sunbury, Ohio; four grandchildren, Todd, Gavin, Taylor and Zachary; three brothers and one sister, James Robert Ralston, Ypsilanti, Mich., George Dale (Teresa) Ralston, Pineville, Danny Lee Ralston, Pineville, and Freddie Ann (Loyall) Partin, Pineville; special mother-in-law, Helen Givens, Pineville; special aunt, Quintella (James “Smitty”) Smith, Pineville; two brothers-in-law, Carl (Violet) Givens Jr., Harriman, Tenn., and Doyle (Jes'Anne) Given, Pineville; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at the West Pineville Baptist Church with the Rev. David Peters, the Rev. Shelby Money, and the Rev. Shawn Allen presiding.
Interment will be in the Green Hills Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Stanley, Ricky Slusher, Herky Robbins, Foley Adams, Johnny Green, Honsel Biliter, Bobby Ray Hendrickson, Norman Miller and Johnny Sproles.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at Creech Funeral Home.
