HULEN - Jimmie Duane Sturdivant, 61, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007, at his home.

He was born on Sept. 22, 1945, at Balkan, a son of the late Steve and Drucilla Boatright Sturdivant. A member of the Blackmont Baptist Church, he had been a lineman for tree companies and a bus driver for the Bell County School System.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters and brothers, Rachel Abner, Georgia Pridemore, Roxie Craig, Ruby Alley, Roberta Martin, Octavia Alley, Eva Golden, Janet McGee, Diana Stuart, Marie White, Benny, Condie and Steve Sturdivant; and father-in-law, Harley Jump.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, June Jump Sturdivant of Hulen; children, Aletha and Greg Farley of Watts Creek, and Dewane Sturdivant of Pineville; grandchildren, Taylor Sturdivant, Tyler Sturdivant, Jonathan Marcum and Wesley Farley; sisters, Dorcas Dishman of Pineville, and Juanita Gray of Lexington, Ala.; brother, David Sturdivant of Waterford, Mich.; mother-in-law, Julia Jump; special friends, Mallory and Meredith Smith, Laura Pace; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, at the Blackmont Baptist Church with the Rev. David Howard officiating. Music will be by Blackmont Baptist Church Choir.

Burial will follow in the Upland Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers are members of Boy Scout Troop 323.

Memorials are suggested to Mountain Heritage Hospice.
