Speedwell, Tenn. - Marion C. Claiborne, 78, passed away Saturday, Jan. 27, 2007, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Campbell County, Tenn.

He was a member of Speedwell Academy Baptist Church and a 50 year member of Valley Star Masonic Lodge.

Preceding him in death were his parents Alvin and Maude Harris Claiborne; brothers, J.F. and Verlin Claiborne, 1 infant brother and 1 infant sister.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Bean Claiborne; daughters, Pat and David Ray, Speedwell, Susie and Steve Bailey, Piedmont, S.C., and Tammy and Eddie Hoskins, Speedwell; granddaughters, Starla Ray, Harrogate, Stacey Hoskins, Speedwell; great-grandson, David Gibbs, Harrogate; brother, David H. Claiborne, Harrogate; several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends; and special caregivers at St. Mary's Medical Center of Campbell Co. and Dr. Jamal Isber for their loving care of Marion and his family.

Funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Monday at Cross Chapel with the Rev. Eddie Hoskins officiating.

Burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Beeler Cemetery in Speedwell. Pallbearers will be Greg Bean, Roger and Ronnie Claiborne, Billy Ralph and Ernie Clawson and David Gibbs. Honorary pallbearers are Merrill Boatman, Joel Hodges and Jason Seiber

The family will receive friends 6 until 8 p.m. Monday at Cross Funeral Home, LaFollette, Tenn.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Community Baptist Church in Speedwell, Tenn.
