MIDDLESBORO - Della Mandoline Berry, a dedicated member of the Baptist faith, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at the age of 81.

She was born on March 25, 1925, in Claiborne County, Tenn, the daughter of the late Oscar and Emma Hunter.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Berry; one brother, Dewey Hunter; three sisters, Cleo Gent, Mae Hopper and Hazel Stanley; two granddaughters, Marcella Mayes and Sheena Ann Ledger; and one son-in-law, Rich Allgeier.

Survivors include eight children; Geraldine Allgeier, Dewey (Cheryl) Berry, Charlene (Leo) Lane, Cotton (Lee Roy) Duffield, Pauline Berry, Dean (April) Berry, Jackie Berry and David (Teresa) Berry; one sister; Maurine Sowders; 14 grandchildren, six step-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, 26 great-step-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild, 11 great-great-step-grandchildren; special friends, Jerry Standifer and Alberta Warwick; special caregivers; employees of Middlesboro Health Care and Rehabilitation Center; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 8 p.m., Thursday, March 8, at Shumate Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Truman Partin officiating.

Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 9, at Yoakum Cemetery, Harrogate, Tenn. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Walt Overbay and Allen Keck.

The family will receive friends Thursday, March 8,from 6-8 p.m. at the Shumate Funeral Home Chapel.
