Kids Fest and Car Show coming up

PINEVILLE — Two big events are being planned for the month of August in Pineville.

First up is Kids Fest! which is being co-sponsored by Main Street Pineville and New Heights. Kids Fest!, on the courthouse square, offers an afternoon of fun-filled activities for children absolutely free.

Kids Fest! will be open from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, August 18, and will feature inflatables, hot dogs and drinks, cotton candy, popcorn, face painting, balloons, corn hole game, a puppet show, bubbles, free haircuts, music and more.

On Saturday, August 25, Main Street Pineville will host its annual August Car and Bike Show. Registration will begin at the gazebo on the court square at 9 a.m. and judging will begin at 1 p.m. Trophies will be presented at 4 p.m., to be followed by a cruise through town.

Throughout the day there will be a demonstration by the Pine Mountain Carvers. There will also be food and entertainment by Pine Mountain Dancers, Kayla’s School of Dance, Martha Rutherford and more.

For more information about either event contact Tim Cornett with Main Street Pineville at 606-449-3835.
