The Cumberland Gap Board of Mayor and Aldermen met in a special called meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 28. The sole topic on the agenda was a resolution to authorize extension of a $337,600 sewer revenue and tax bond anticipation note.
The note was authorized in July 2005 and would be due on Sept. 9 of this year. The resolution, as passed, authorizes borrowing money from Rural Development for up to two years in order to pay off the original note.
The next scheduled meeting of the Cumberland Gap BMA will be Sept. 10 at 7 p.m.
