She had been a resident of Laurel Manor Nursing Home for the past two years. Born Aug. 1, 1925 in Claiborne County, Tenn., a daughter of Rike and Lucinda Gordon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James “Joe” Marsee in July 2001; and a son, David Alan Marsee in 2000.
She and her husband had been residents of Middlesboro for the majority of their lives, and they were both of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include four children, Katherine L. Price and her husband James Ambrose Price of Fort Wayne, Ind., Marilyn L. Bryant and her husband Robert M. Bryant of Tazewell, Tenn., Mickey J. Marsee and his wife Judy of Harrogate, Tenn., Steve E. Marsee and his wife Janice of Middlesboro. She was also the grandmother of 11 grandchildren, Vickie Beineke of Greenville, S.C., Sean Price of Charlotte, N.C., Mike Marsee of Tazewell, Tenn., Mark Marsee of Harrogate, Tenn., Christopher (Adam) Thomas of Kenosha, Wisc., Maretha Marlow of New Tazewell, Tenn., Jason Thomas of Telico Plains, Tenn., Steven Marsee and Gregory Marsee of Lexington, Ky., Denise Godt and David Marsee Fort Wayne, Ind.; and 14 surviving great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were officiated by the Rev. Brad Gilbert of Sharps Chapel. She was laid to rest beside her husband and son at Hooper Cemetery in Powell Valley, Tenn., on Oct. 4, 2007.
