TAZEWELL, Tenn. — First Century Bank today announced the promotion of Rex Rauhuff to Vice President and Senior Managing Officer.

Rauhuff’s new responsibilities include coordinating sales and service efforts, branch goals, personnel issues, and communication issues. He will also serve as liaison between branch offices and the main office. Additionally, Rauhuff will move his office location from the Strawberry Plains Pike office to the bank’s Main Office in Tazewell.

Rauhuff joined First Century Bank last year as Vice President and Regional Manager for the bank’s Knoxville market. With more than 10 years experience in the financial industry, Rauhuff has served in all aspects of banking including loan operations, customer service, lending, and as a branch manager and sales service leader.

“Rex has done an excellent job working with our offices in Knoxville and in Maynardville. In an effort to properly streamline our branch operations, it only makes good business sense to have Rex oversee and coordinate all our branch offices,” said Rob Barger, President of First Century Bank.

Rauhuff is a Powell resident, and graduate of Powell High School. He has attended Pellissippi State Community College and Wake Forest Banking School.

He has furthered his banking knowledge through the nationally recognized Cohen Brown sales training, several client relationship and team building courses, and commercial and advanced lending and leadership training.

Rauhuff and his wife, Lindsay, have been married for ten years and have two children, Blake, who is six, and Caroline, who is twenty-two months old.

He is a member of Callahan Baptist Church in Powell, and enjoys coaching his son’s baseball and football teams, the Powell Panthers. He also participates in the Habitat for Humanity, donating his time to build houses for those in need.

Locally owned and operated since 1899, First Century Bank is the oldest bank in Claiborne County. The bank now operates eight locations in Claiborne, Hancock, Union and Knox Counties including a new location on Strawberry Plains Pike in Knoxville. First Century Bank also operates an insurance division, Hamilton-Wallace Insurance.
