MIDDLESBORO — Doyle Crigger, 82, born July 31, 1925, passed away Monday, March 3, 2008, at Middlesboro Appalachian Regional Hospital, after a long illness.

He served in the United States Navy from 1943-1945. A long-time fisherman, he loved to fish with his son and grandsons and he also enjoyed the flea market.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Molley Crigger; and sister, Anna Ayers.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Geneva Lucille Seabolt Crigger; children, Shelia (John) Reese, Gibsonville, N.C., Kyla (Roger) Sandefur, Harrogate, Tenn., Gracie (John) Brock, Morristown, Tenn., Sherry Gail Crigger, Harrogate, Tenn., James Doyle “Shorty” Crigger, Middlesboro, and Lisa (Tony) Sutton, New Tazewell, Tenn.; sister, Grace (Eddie) Beard, Pontiac, Mich.; 12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends; and special caregiver and friends, Dan Smith and Jenny Hendrickson.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 7, at Reece Valley Chapel with the Rev. Steve Temple, the Rev. Randy Duncan and Rick Crowder officiating. Music will be by Brenda Money, Dora Duncan and Dorothy Hood.

Burial will be in Irish Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are Roy Dall Corum, Don Thacker, R.C. Thacker, Alvis Moore, Harvey Fuson, and Larry Hash.
