JONESVILLE, Va. — Roy Eagle, 66, passed away Monday, March 24, 2008, at Wellmont Lonesome Pine Hospital in Big Stone Gap, Va., after a valiant eight year battle with cancer.

A lifelong resident of Lee County, Virginia, he had accepted Christ as his Savior.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Ruby Robbins Eagle.

Surviving are:his wife, Betty Eagle of Jonesville; daughter and son-in-law, Leigh Ann and Randy Surber of Jonesville; three grandchildren, Katey, Josh, and Eryn Surber; two sisters, Delma Bruner and husband, Bobby of Pennington Gap, Va., and Pauline McFarland of Woodbridge, Va.; and several nieces and nephews and many, many friends.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Arney-Mullins Funeral Home, Jonesville Chapel.

Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Fred Kagel and Brother Jim Lewis officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Millers Chapel Cemetery in Jonesville.
