Senior Brooklyn Jimison fired a two-hitter with eight strikeouts, and the Lady Jackets capitalized on 13 Harlan errors to advance to the championship game of the 13th Region All “A” Classic.
Jimison walked one and hit a batter. Junior Samantha Smith doubled and Kerri McCarthy added a single for Harlan’s only hits.
Jimison, Kristen Davis, Sophie Robinson, Tess Ford and Kacie Powers each singled for Middlesboro (9-2).
Courtney Bell (3-3) took the loss, striking out one and walking six.
The Lady Jackets will play host to Cumberland today at 5:30 p.m. for the title.
Harlan (4-3) will travel to Corbin this weekend to participate in the Cumberland Falls Invitational. The Lady Dragons will face Lexington Catholic tonight at 7:30 and will return to action Saturday against Lawrence County at 9 a.m. and Corbin at 11 before entering elimination play.
