The Bobcats reached the end zone ten times Friday night as they completed a second straight undefeated district season with a 70-0 thrashing of McCreary Central.
Bell came out throwing the ball as Shawnta Zachery completed 4-of-5 psses, all in the first quarter. He threw for 133 yards and three touchdowns. He also ran 23 yards for another score in the second quarter.
The first TD went to Chase Ely from 25 yards out to give the Bobcats a 6-0 lead.
Zachery hit tight end John Dudley Hilton for a 22-yard touchdown and later hooked up with Cody Davenport for a 51-yard score.
Senior running back Spencer Greer touched the ball just four times in the game, but made them count for 133 yards including touchdowns of 26 and 63 yards.
Seniors Justin Goodin and Matt Simpson added TD runs of 20 and 3 yards, respectively, as the Bobcats led 54-0 at halftime.
Monte Merrick was 6-of-8 on extra points in the game.
With the game well in hand the Bobcat starters didn’t return to the field for the second half.
The clock ran continuously and Cory Davenport and Josh Brown added touchdown runs in the fourth quarter.
Bell held McCreary to just 48 total yards in the game — all on 42 rushing attempts.
The Bobcats needed just 25 offensive plays to run up 484 total yards — 351 on the ground.
Simpson ran for 99 yards on just four carries.
Bell County (8-0, 4-0 district) hosts Leslie County next Friday while McCreary (4-5, 1-3) visits Campbellsville.
