Friends of Robert Timothy Ward, 43, say that he was with several people on a 24-foot Dolphin pontoon boat when the boat stalled and appeared to have run out of fuel. They say Ward leaned over to check the fuel tank, fell into the water and never resurfaced. His friends say that was a good swimmer, but he was not wearing a life jacket.
Rescue squads from several counties including Bell, Claiborne, Union, and Grainger counties and have assisted with the search for the victim's body.
