The U.S. Department of Homeland Security says the Federal Emergency Management Agency has approved more than $8.4 million in individual assistance and $865,000 in other needs assistance for residents in 22 counties. The funds help with expenses such as home repairs, temporary housing, medical and funeral bills and moving and storage fees.
The U.S. Small Business Administration has approved loans totaling more than $3.9 million for individuals and businesses.
Another $8.6 million has been approved for state and local governments by FEMA to help repair or replace public facilities damaged or destroyed in the storms.
