LMU’s Fowler named second-team All-Region

HARROGATE, Tenn. — Daktronic, Inc. and the Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) released the 2011 Daktronics NCAA Division II All-Southeast Region Volleyball teams this morning. Lincoln Memorial University's Blaire Fowler was named to the second team in the wake of her first team South Atlantic Conference honors.

Blaire Fowler has led the Lady Railsplitters to a record-breaking 14-4 South Atlantic Conference record as well as a 22-6 record overall. Fowler has tallied a team leading 372 kills on a .308 hitting percentage, which ranks her third in the South Atlantic Conference. Her 3.65 kills per game average places her second in the SAC. She also ranks second on the team with 296 digs on the year.

Fowler will lead the Lady Railsplitters into their fourth consecutive NCAA appearance as they finished 5th in the Southeast Region. They will travel to Wingate, North Carolina to face conference foe Catawba College in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. That game will be played on Friday, November 18th at 5 p.m.
