She was a faithful member of Carr’s Chapel Baptist Church for 46 years. She served as youth leader, Sunday School secretary, vacation Bible school director, and on the nominating committee. She worked at Imperial Reading/Health-Tex for 20 plus years.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ted Roger Edwards; mother, Odie (Kelley) Edwards; brother-in-law, Eddie Newport; and sister-in-law, Brenda Edwards.
She is survived by her brothers, Larry (Millie) Edwards of Speedwell, Lonnie Edwards of Chesapeake, Virginia, Carl (Gloria) Edwards of LaFollette, Tennessee, and Dan (Vanda) Edwards of Barboursville, Virginia; sisters, Brenda Evans, Joyce Newport, Betty (Jessy) Gregg and Pam (Johnny) Perkins, all of Speedwell.
She was a second mother to her brothers and sisters, and a second grandmother to all her nephews and nieces whom she loved and cherished.
The family will receive friends 6 until 9 p.m. Monday night April 2, at Coffey Funeral Home in Harrogate, Tenn.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday April 3, 2012, at Carr’s Chapel Baptist Church, with the Rev. David Bolton and the Rev. Chad Burdette presiding. Music will be by Donnie Adkins.
Burial will follow in the Edwards Cemetery in Speedwell, Tenn. Pallbearers will be John Schneider, Brian Alexander, J.D. Estep, Charlotte (Sissy) Wilson, John Tipton, Larry Martin, Sam Silva, and Jeff Bond.
