FRAKES — Anna Opal Hamblin, 79 of Frakes, went to be with the Lord on Friday April 6, 2012. She passed away at the U.T. Medical Center in Knoxville, Tenn.

Born March 15, 1933, in Frakes, she was the daughter of the late Sherman and Lillian Bray Hurst. She was a loving mother and grandmother, everyone who knew her, loved her dearly. She was a member of the Lower Laurel Fork Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, K.C. Hamblin; a son, Dewey Partin; brothers, Elbert Harrison, Julius Hurst and Edward Hurst; sisters, Gracie Thacker and Lois King.

She is survived by sons, Ronnie (Linda) Partin and Jerry (Connie) Partin, all of Jacksboro, Tenn.; granddaughter, Martha Partin of Harrogate, Tenn.; grandsons, Daniel Partin of Arjay, and Jerry Anthony Partin of Lake City, Tenn.; step-grandson, Jonathan Teague of Jacksboro; great-granddaughters, Tessi Marcum and Maci Burns, both of Harrogate; sisters, Dora Partin, Darlene Reeves and Eula Helton; and a host of nieces and nephews, including special nephew, Alford Ray Hurst.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 9, at the Creech Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bernley Lambdin and the Rev. Steve Elkins presiding. Music was provided by Gene and Penny Goins, and the Alder Springs Singers.

Interment followed in the Lambdin Cemetery in Frakes.
