HARROGATE, Tenn. — Ernest L. Miracle, 93 of Harrogate, Tenn., passed away Friday April 13, 2012, at the Tri State Manor Nursing Facility.
He was born December 24, 1918, and was the son of the late James A. and Mary Denny Miracle. A member of the Shawanee Baptist Church, he was a coal miner and a carpenter.
He was a veteran serving in World War II, serving from January 10, 1940 to August 4, 1945. He served as a medical aidman with the 734th Medical Detachment/Anti-aircraft Gun Battalion. During his service he received 2 Bronze Stars, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, and a Good Conduct Ribbon.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Bill, Clifford, Roy and Sewell Miracle; and sisters, Rosie Robbin, Maggie Hensley, Mable Roop, and Maurine Williams.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice W. Miracle; daughter and special care giver, Mary Jo Miracle; daughters, Sue (Roy) Dickson, and Judy (Kenny) Treece; sons, Ronald (Tatia) Miracle, Philip (Karen) Miracle, and David (Mary Anne) Miracle; sister, Bernice Miracle Harlowe; 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday at the Creech Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. John Gibbons presiding.
Interment will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Mountain View Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Ronnie Miracle, Mark Miracle, Adam Miracle, Andrew Fultz, Chad Miracle, and Josh Walker.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Creech Funeral Home.
