Stand in the Gap is on the move! The Tri-State area’s effort to eradicate the community of drug abuse didn’t end with the march in November of last year, pictured here. Edwin Robertson, an organizer with Stand in the Gap, recently visited Washington, DC, and visited several offices of the Tri-State area’s senators and congressmen. SITG is seeking federal funding to create a Federal Drug Task Force for and in the Tri-State region. Representatives have committed to be at a local task force meeting and the results of that meeting will be presented at the next Stand in the Gap gathering. The SITG meeting will be held this Sunday, May 6, at 3 p.m. in Duke Hall on the LMU campus in Harrogate. Everyone who is interested in what can be done about the drug problem in the area should attend.
