PINEVILLE - The Bell County Homemakers will once again sponsor a Quilt Show during the Kentucky Mountain Laurel Festival. It will be held in the basement of the Old Bell County Courthouse (enter on fountain side).
Registration for the Quilt Show will be Thursday, May 24, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Quilt Show will be open on to the public on Friday, May 25, from
9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and on Saturday, May 26, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Quilts must be picked up between 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 26.
Full size, queen size, king size quilts are all welcome. They must be entered on Thursday, May 24, in the courthouse basement from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Hand quilted, machine quilted, appliquéd, cross-stitched, novelty or embroidered quilts are welcome. Also baby quilts, lap quilts or wall hangings can be shown.

The 2012 Kentucky Mountain Laurel Festival officially opens Thursday, May 24, with the introduction of the queen and princess candidates, followed by the “Roots and Boots” concert featuring Aaron Tippin, Joe Diffie, and Sammy Kershaw. Other events include the princess coronation on Friday evening, and the queen’s coronation on Saturday afternoon at the Laurel Cove Amphitheater at Pine Mountain State Park. The Jules Beck carnival will also be in town with rides and games, and crafters, food vendors and others will have booths surrounding courthouse square in downtown Pineville throughout the festival.
