Saturday kicked off the 2012 “Cruisin’ the Crater” series and it attracted a bevy of classic cars and a huge group of visitors. Each year, between the months of May and September, the car show is held at the Middlesboro Mall parking lot. The event is slated for the third Saturday of the month, and is held from 4:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. In addition to the car show, the event features live music and entertainment. Sponsored by the Tri-State Cruisers, the event is in its seventh year. Anyone that wants to participate can, as the event is free for participants and spectators alike. In addition to the car show, a professional DJ plays 50s music, and once or twice in the season, professional bands will provide the entertainment.
