State Rep. Rick Nelson has announced the construction of two turn lanes on U.S. 119, thanks to the state’s enacted 2012 road plan.

The first project will be a turn lane at the Page Elementary School. The planning for this project is already under way and the total cost will be around $623,000.

The second turn lane will start around the Wasioto Baptist Church and will go to the 1.17 mile marker. The project will cost $2.7 million. Planning on this project will start later this year.

“Both of these turn lanes will improve safety quite a bit as both of these areas have quite a bit of traffic flow” stated Nelson. “We also were able to access some federal funding for this project.”

Nelson has also requested the state transportation cabinet to conduct a cost estimate on a school turn lane for the Right Fork School for possible funding. If you need to contact Nelson, his number is 248-8828.

Getting started as a four-lane would be even better.
