Opal Brooks, age 72, passed away Sunday, July 22, 2012, at Middlesboro Appalachian Regional Hospital.
Born may 18, 1940, at Fourmile, she was the daughter of the late Lester Gray and Elsie Charles Gray. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Leon Jackson and her second husband, Gene Brooks; two brothers, Franklin and Vernon Gray; and one sister, Mollie Mae Edmondson.
Survivors include her daughter, Connie Gray and Kenneth “Bo’ Nash, Middlesboro; granddaughter, Jamie Miracle and T.J. Minton, Middlesboro; two sons, Charlie Jackson, Middlesboro, and Jimmy Jackson and granddaughter, Amanda Jackson; three brothers, Lonnie and Sue Gray, Barbourville, Darryell and Etta Gray, Pineville, and Larry Jackson, Pineville; five sisters, Beulah and Elmer Jeffers, Pineville, Edna Payne, Pineville, Thelma and Roy Elder, Stinking Creek, Bonnie Grendell, Dunkeik, Ohio, and Wanda and Roger Branham, Middlesboro; brother-in-law, Ike Edmondson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at noon Wednesday at Creech Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Dempsey Gray and the Rev. Randy Phelps presiding.
Burial will follow in Green Hills Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
The family will receive friends Tuesday at Creech Funeral Home.
