Rose Hill, Va. — Peggy Doyle, 75 of Rose Hill, Va., passed away Thursday (September 13, 2012) at Kindred Hospital in Rome, Ga. after a courageous battle with complications from surgery. Her loving brother, Ronnie was at her bedside.
Peggy was born on November 2, 1936 in Ewing, Va. She gave her daughter, Robin a precious gift of her birthdate.
Peggy was an active volunteer member of the Thomas Walker Rescue Squad for 30 years. She loved helping anyone that she could. She was a member of the Cumberland Chapter #170 order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ewing. She loved attending other church faiths, especially Flatwoods United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Doyle; her sons, Steve and Bobby Doyle; and her parents, Dexter and Jessuteen Brooks.
She is survived by her daughter, Robin Maddux; her grandchildren, Adam (Sara) Payne, Jessica (Adam) Powers, Jason Doyle, and Nikki Hipshire; great-grandchildren, Jaelyn Powers, Justin Doyle, Kaitlyn Willis, Jaimin Hipshire, and Mason Doyle; her brothers, Ronnie Brooks of Rockmart, Georgia, Theo Brooks of Orlando, Florida; Donnie Brooks of Jonesville, Virginia; her sister, Judy Gregory of Rose Hill, Virginia; daughter-in-law, Cindy Doyle; special “friend”, Pam Hurst; nieces, nephews, and her Amish families.
Peggy’s wishes were for no visitation to be held. She wanted everyone to remember her as the last time they spoke.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Richmond Cemetery in Ewing, Virginia with the Rev. Richard Long officiating.
Pallbearers will be Adam Payne, Adam Powers, Jason Doyle, Allen Payne, Chuck Parks, and Frankie Brooks.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Thomas Walker Rescue Squad and Fire Department.
