Staff report

A Wallins Creek woman was arrested recently for drug possession and other charges.

Terri Brigmon, 33, was arrested on the charge of first-degree possession of a controlled substance on Thursday.

Brigmon was charged for having a prescription controlled substance not being in the original container as well.

Brigmon was also charged with theft by deception under $10,000 and second-degree forgery.

According to the criminal complaint, Brigmon made an unauthorized withdrawal of $700 from an account at Home Federal Bank in Middlesboro. Police said the account did not belong to her.

The forgery charge occurred when Brigmon allegedly signed the name of the individual without authorization from the owner, according to the complaint.

Brigmon was lodged in the Bell County Detention Center.

Officer Josh Harris of the Middlesboro Police Department (MPD) filed the complaint on the forgery and theft charge. She was arrested by officer Gary Lambdin of the Pineville Police Department on the possession charge.

In other police news, two Middlesboro men were arrested on receiving stolen property charges.

Michael Anthony Partin, 28, and Fredrick Steve Clay, 26, were arrested after the two allegedly possessed eight stolen car batteries. All of the batteries were allegedly stolen from a residence in Yoakum Apartments in Middlesboro.

MPD Officer Justin Barton made the arrest on Thursday.
