Brenda Carolyn Lewis Lawson, age 63 of Beverly, passed away on Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, at the Saint Joseph Hospital in London.
She was born on May 11, 1949, in Pineville and was the daughter of the late Tim Lewis and Joyce Faye Messer Lewis. Carolyn was a believer in God, was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, and had retired as a post master for the U.S. Postal Service.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Bessie Marie Lewis Carnes; and brothers, David Mark Lewis and Terry Lee Lewis.
Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Kenneth Lawson; children and their spouses, Elaine and John Noble and Dewayne and Tammy Lawson; grandchildren, Korrey Morgan, Mackenzie Lawson, Whitley Combs, Andrew Howard, Kristie Noble, Jonathan Noble, Jarrod Noble, Jacqlyn Noble and Jacob Noble; five great-grandchildren; sister, Linda and Leonard Jr. Smith; brothers, Leon Lewis, Tim Jr. and Sheila Lewis, Bryan and Melissa Lewis and Eddie Lewis; special friend, Freida Slusher; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Beverly United Methodist Church with the Rev. Larry Gross and the Rev. Teddy Collett presiding. Special friends will provide music for the service.
Burial will follow in the Mud Lick Cemetery in Beverly with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday after 6 p.m. at the Beverly United Methodist Church. The Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville is honored to serve the Lawson family.
