Elmer Settles, 61 of Middlesboro, passed away Sunday, October 21, 2012 at his home. He was born August 29, 1951 in Middlesboro, KY, the son of the late Daniel Woodrow Settles and Opal Duffield Taulbee who survives. He believed in the Holiness faith. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by 1 son, William Earl Settles; 3 brothers, David Settles, Tony Settles and Freddy Wayne Duffield; step-father, Kenneth Taulbee.

He is survived by the following members of his family: wife, Pamela “Jo” Settles; mother, Opal Taulbee; children, Freddy Wayne Settles, April Sue Settles, Sadie Brock, Angel Settles and William Settles II; step-mother, Bertha Settles; four grandchildren whom he raised, Shane, Jessica, Jamie and Braxton; sisters, Susie, Sandy, Debbie and Marie Settles, Betty Jo, Kim and Kathy Taulbee, Mary, Beulah, Jerry, Albert, Juanita and Betty Ann Duffield; and a host of other grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 24, at the Creech Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Padgett presiding. Music will be provided by Glenda Duffield. Interment will follow in the Settles Cemetery in Middlesboro.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 23, at the Creech Funeral Home.
