Yellow Creek holds breast cancer program

Staff Report

The Yellow Creek School Center had their annual Breast Cancer Awareness program recently.

The speaker presented information on the Susan B. Komen for the Cure Foundation, breast cancer statistics and read the Susan B. Komen story.

Songs of faith were performed by Lavonis Miracle, assistant principal at Yellow Creek, and Teresa Banks, second grade teacher at Yellow Creek. Ms. Stacey Slusher read a selection from “What I Know Now.”

Survivors were presented with a pink carnation, certificate and a breast cancer magnet.

Survivors attending were Addie Huffman, Othella Hurst, Mitzi Fuson, Jennifer Gray, Nora Nash, Rosie Huff, Eula Orick and Joy Rucker.

The annual program was coordinated by Mrs. Patricia West, the family resource and youth service center coordinator.
