HARROGATE, Tenn. — Lincoln Memorial University head men’s basketball coach Josh Schertz is inviting the LMU student community as well as the neighboring communities in Claiborne and Bell counties to spend Saturday evening with the LMU men’s basketball team.

The evening will tip off at 7 p.m. with player and coach introductions, followed by the Railsplitters’ annual Blue-White scrimmage. The scrimmage is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. and will be played in Tex Turner Arena.

Following the Blue-White scrimmage, the team and coaching staff will be available for a meet and greet as well as autograph session. Fans in attendance will be provided with a 2012-13 Railsplitter team portrait to be signed.

The Lincoln Memorial men’s basketball team heads into the 2012-13 season with a level of expectation and excitement that has become the norm for the program under the tutelage of Schertz. The Railsplitters were selected fifth in the Basketball Times Division II Preseason Top-20 Poll, while they garnered 25th in the Division II Bulletin’s preseason national poll.

Come out and join the Railsplitters as they introduce the faces that make up the 2012-13 men’s basketball squad, primed to make another run at capturing the South Atlantic Conference Championship and pressing into the NCAA Tournament.

The Railsplitters were in Tallahassee, Fla., Tuesday night for an exhibition game at Florida State. See Thursday’s Daily News for details from the game.
