Three charged with murder

Late Sunday night, the body of Jonathan Foley, reported missing on Nov.7, was recovered by officers from the Barbourville Police Department, Knox County Sheriff Department, Kentucky State Police and Knox County SORT Team.

According to Barbourville City Police Chief Mike Broughton, based upon the missing persons investigation launched Wednesday afternoon, officers learned Foley had been killed on the day he went missing.

“Through joint agency investigation, three men were identified as being involved in the murder and were arrested Sunday,” said police in a press release. Following the arrests, officers learned the location of Foley’s body and were able to recover it.

Joint efforts by several agencies were crucial to arrests being made and information gathered.”

Three individuals were charged with murder. They are John Chris Mills, 42, of Bimble, George Marcum, 52, of Trosper, and James Wyatt, 33, of Bimble. They were lodged in the Knox County Jail.

Assisting in the investigation and arrests were officers of the Barbourville Police Department, Knox County Sheriff Department and the Kentucky State Police.
