Two arrested on drug charges

Two Middlesboro men were arrested recently by the Middlesboro Police Department on drug charges.

Mark J. Sturgill, 30, of Middlesboro, was arrested on the charge of first-degree possession of a controlled substance.

While being arrested on a bench warrant, Sturgill took off his jacket and put it in his truck, according to the arrest citation. As he turned back toward officers, he allegedly dropped a white container to the ground and kicked it with his foot.

The container allegedly contained six blue round pills believed to be Roxycontin.

Sturgill was also charged with having a prescription controlled substance not in its original container and operating on a suspended/revoked license.

David B. Combs, 41, of Middlesboro, was arrested and charged with firs -degree possession of a controlled substance. After a search of Comb’s vehicle, six tablets marked op on one side and 40 on the other were found, according to the arrest citation.
