William Quinton Littrell, 73, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Lee Regional Medical Center in Pennington Gap, Virginia.

Quinton was the son of the late Rev. Hubert Tipton Littrell and Ressie Leora (Seals) Littrell of Lee County.

He was a member and deacon of Walnut Hill Baptist Church.

Quinton was a lifelong resident of Lee County, Virginia, graduating from Thomas Walker High School in 1958. He married Bobbie Sumpter June 24, 1962 and joined Mountain View Baptist Church at age 12.

Quinton was supervisor of District I from 1975 – 1979, was a member of the Lenowisco Board, Welfare Board, Electoral Board for 28 years, and a member and chairman of the Industrial Development Authority for several years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Lions Club, and Ruritan Club. He had been a truck driver and farmer and was a lifelong Democrat.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Renee Littrell Ayers; brothers, Coleman Delano (Middlesboro, KY), Chester Rhea (Ewing, VA), John Kyle Littrell (Eaton, OH); and father and mother-in-law, late Millard and Juanita Sumpter.

Survivors include: loving and devoted wife of 50 years, Bobbie Sumpter Littrell; daughter, Jennifer and husband, Paul Hensley of Knoxville, TN; son, William (Will) Quinton Littrell, II and wife, Beckie of Ewing, VA; grandsons, Quinton Blake Hensley, Edmond Brandt Hensley, and William (Little Will) Quinton Littrell, III.

Calling hours will be 4–7 p.m. Tuesday at Walnut Hill Baptist Church. Funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary with Rev. George C. Walker and Rev. Robert Charles Long officiating. Prayer will be by Danny Jones. Music will be by George Walker and Peggy Walker, Robert Charles Long and Shelby Long and Rita Britton.

Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday on the family farm in Bailey Town.

Those attending the graveside service are asked to meet at Walnut Hill Baptist Church to proceed to the cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Danny Ayers, Walter Littrell, Charlie Greer, Ray Ayers, Robert Clonce, Gary Clonce, Blake Hensley, Brandt Hensley, Ronnie Seals, Jim Sumpter and Sam Sumpter.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Littrell, Wayne Shubert , Barlow Newman, David Burchette, Robert Littrell, Earl Sumpter, Tim Littrell, Greg Edwards, Larry Smith, Ronnie Hembree, and Vernon Taylor.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a college scholarship fund for the three grandsons.
